It is that time of year for the Google Page Rank update… if you watch any of the forums on SEO I’m sure you’ll hear a ton about it. You’ll hear plenty of complaining I’m sure.

But, wait a minute!! Why is this such a big deal? It occurs every year, it isn’t a surprise… so why the hype? If everyone was busy making their business better instead of worrying about some page rank a company puts on their website they’d be a lot better off.

So…. let’s just say NO to worrying about the Google Page Rank Update and get on with building our business!

Another great newsletter I want to let you know about is Maximum Overdrive. This is a newsletter written by Woody Maxim - who came from the adult market. Some people say the adult industry is where the really web experts are…. and I believe them! Woody really gives out some serious content in each of his newsletters. He walks you through the steps and tells you EXACTLY what HE does… what more could you ask for in a newsletter?!

April was the first newsleter, so you haven’t missed much. There is still plenty of time to get in all the great stuff Woody is sharing. If you head over there right now you can get the first newsletter for just $15. It’s well worth the cost, believe me!! You can check out Woody’s blog at www.woodymaxim.com.

Just to give some idea of what I’ve seen in his newsletters since April..
April - He tells you all sorts of ways to take advantage of products on www.regnow.com

May - 7 pages of how he uses CPA (Cost Per Action/Cost Per Acquisition) Networks to make money… and I’m talking blueprints! Step by Step

June - This months blueprint is about Adsense… what more do I need to say

July - This newsletter was very short, only 3 pages… but included a link to an ENTIRE BOOK on Adsense Arbitrage. I’m not talking about a 7 page ebook either… 72 pages!! Wow, is that overdelivering or what?

If you didn’t notice in my report on Trafficology, I love newsletters that come in the mail! Why - because I actually sit down and read them when they arrive. Things that are online only I have a tendancy to bookmark and never get back to them to read.

So don’t forget to check out Maximum Overdrive. and get your first newsletter for only $15!

Wow… I’m still recovering from an intense weekend at the Midwest Internet Marketing Seminar in Madison, WI. Ross Goldberg put on an absolutely fabulous event!!! What I was the most impressed with was the variety of speakers… they didn’t all come from the internet marketing space.

The attendees were as varied as the presenters were. It was a lot of fun to visit with people who have been involved with business for years and years, but are now getting involved with marketing on the Internet. Two great guys I met were Dan and Don. Dan is a vetrinarian and Don was a programmer (back when you did programming in assembler), owned a marina, and now is marketing online. Had a great weekend with those two discussing ideas. Seven of us put together a mastermind group before we wrapped up on Sunday.

It was two full days of information and networking. Ross almost locked us in a room for the full two days - he was so afraid we’d get away that he even fed us - yep, all three meals! And we’re talking about real food, not just snacks. The presenters were great, but we had plenty of time to network with each other as well - which was probably even more important.

I had the opportunity to visit with the author Ben Mack, the author of ‘Think Two Products Ahead’. Very interesting guy with some very unique ideas. Liz Tomey did an awsome job with her presentation - even though I know she was quite nervous as this was her first time as a presenter. You would have never know it!! Pat Lovell had a few technical difficulties on day 1 (rather funny, considering he was handling all of the technical recording and no one else had a problem). ;-) So, he presented on day 2… it was worth waiting for!! Some great ideas on SEO which complimented what we leared from Ross Goldberg on Web 2.0 SEO on day 1.

I think the person that impacted me the most was Brian Kosobucki, “Koz” for short. He discussed outsourcing. Yes, I know, we’ve all heard it before… you can make more money by outsourcing rather than trying to do all of it yourself. But, the point that really hit home to me was “would you rather make 30% (or less) on a project or 100% of nothing?” Because that is exactly what happens (making 100% of nothing) when we sit on an idea and never get around to doing anything with it because we don’t know how or don’t have the time. The better idea is to get a group of people together that can take your idea and take it to fruition… you get a smaller cut because you are sharing it with others, but you’re making something! Wow… it’s a pretty small thing, but it can sure make a difference. I’m working on that concept from now on.

The next time this seminar is held it won’t be in the midwest. :-( Therefore Ross and his partner, Koz, went to work coming up with a new name. It will now be referred to as the “Masters Seminar”. It sounds like there are plans in the works for something in about 6 months or so. It was a huge success and you can’t count on the tickets costing more than $197 this time… but it will be worth it. So don’t forget to get a ticket! It will be the best money you’ll spend!

I’ll add some additional updates later, including pictures.

I’m off to Madison, WI on Friday to the first Midwest Internet Marketing Seminar. Ross Goldberg is putting the even together. Check it out at http://www.midwestimseminars.com. It’s going to be a very, very busy weekend as he’s packing a 3-day seminar into 2 days.

When I first heard about it I couldn’t believe the price - only $197!!!! That includes breakfast, lunch and a snack. Plus, he got us a 25% discount at the Holiday Inn in Madison. Basically, he’s priced it for the beginners who are not making a ton of money and can’t afford to spend a lot. I really hope the place is packed! The list of presenters is top-notch also - Liz Tomey (her first time speaking at a seminar), John Hostler, Ron Capps, Pat Lovell, and more!

Madison is only a 7 hr drive away, which made it a no-brainer for attending. I also hog-tied my brother and told him he was coming with! He pushed me to go to a seminar in Dallas, so this time it was my turn to push him to attend this one. Given there was no plane fare involved, it helped alot. We are both very excited about the event as well as the time to discuss ideas during the 14 hours of drive time!

It’s not too late to check it out… I’m sure it will be some of the best money you’ll spend all year!

Trafficology

I received my monthly newsletter from Trafficology in the mail a few days ago. I love that newsletter and I love that it arrives in the snail mail! Why? Because it is one of the few newsletter that get read every month!! I immediately open it up and put the CDs in my truck and I either sit down and read the newsletter immediately or it gets set next to my evening reading chair… which means I read it the next time I sit down.

I know, your thinking why don’t they just email it to me, put it in a blog, post it on their website in a pdf format. Well, I don’t know, but I sure appreciate receiving it in my mail. If you’re like me, you’re overloaded with email. An email arrives telling you the newsletter is available online… how many times do you jump right then and there and get over and read it? Nope, me either. I tell my self I don’t have time and I’ll pick it up later…. and then I never do.

The Gold membership of Trafficology comes with a audio CD each month also. Once again, it’s all ready for me to listen to. I don’t need to listen on my laptop, download to my ipod, or burn a CD… which is what I would have to do if it was only available online. I have plenty of membership sites where there is audio information. So what do I do? I make sure I download it so I have it… and then never get back to it to listen to it.

Trafficology is always interesting. They have really great information on getting traffic to your site. Sometimes it’s pretty high-end stuff…not for the newcomer, but I still make sure I read it and listen to the audios. I’m amazed how each time it gives me ideas of things to try - even if it isn’t just what they are recommending.

With a Platinum membership you get an additional audio CD w/ more information related to the monthly topic. I started with a free month trial and after the first issue immediatly upgraded to Platinum!! This is one of those memberships that I have marked as “KEEPER”, so when funds are tight, this isn’t a membership I’ll cancel.

Here are the titles of the audio CDs for the last three months:

Gold - Recommendations & Predictions for 2007
Platinum - How to Convert More Traffic in 2007

Gold - Introduction to CPA Networks: The Largest Source of Traffic Online
Platinum - Advanced CPA Traffic Tips

Gold - How to Discover Your Markets Hot Buttons and Buying Triggers
Platinum - Top Traffic Tactics of the Worlds Best Web Marketers

Oh yea, and on top of that you do get access to a members only site that is jam packed with even MORE information!
