Dallas Focus Seminar
Mar 3rd, 2007 by Wendy
Wow!! What a weekend! I just returned from 4 days in Dallas at the Focus Seminar. I can’t say I would have jumped on the chance to go initially, but I was prompted to due to a workshop given by Liz Tomey and Robert Puddy. They made the offer a little hard to pass up. The price of their workshop covered the cost of the registration fee for the whole weekend!
As somone new to Internet Marketing (since Dec 2006) it’s hard to think about spending money to go to a seminar. Yes, it costs money for the registration and the travel. But…. think about how much you spend every week on products! How many of those products do you really read/listen to and absorb the information? If you’re like me, I buy with the intent of using the material for gaining knowledge as well as making money.. and there they sit, unread.
That is what is so great about attending a seminar - unless you choose to sit in your hotel room instead of attending the workshops and sessions it’s rather hard not to get SOMETHING out of the conference! You are almost force fed the information. It’s great!!!! Three days of information, four presenters each day, 90 minutes (or longer) each presentation. The presenters were some of the top people in the industry - Keith Wellman, Donna Fox, Craig Perrine, Gary Ambrose and others! On top of that you can visit with these experts one-on-one between sessions, and during the mastermind sessions at the end of each day. Boy, I don’t know how you can get more great information in such a short amount of time. By Saturday I was all ready wired - information overload, and I was dying to get home and try things out! Ok, maybe it was too much caffeine too. ;-)
So what I’m trying to tell you is get off the computer and out of the house and get to a seminar!!!! I doesn’t need to be a huge seminar or the most expensive. Find one that is close to where you live so you can save expenses on travel. This seminar was being promoted for $497, the highest price was $797. If you thought it couldn’t be any good because it wasn’t $2,000 than boy, were you wrong!!! I got more than my money worth! In fact, at a smaller seminar it is much easier to network with people… which is exactly what I did. I talked to Donna Fox, Keith Wellman, Gary Ambrose, Pat Lovell, Jon Attwood, Scott Paton, Harris Fellman, Liz Tomey, John Hostler, and Ross Goldberg! Do you think they knew who I was? No, but that didn’t matter!! I learned something from every single one of them.
OK, off my soap box. If you didn’t get my point here it is… find a conference you are interested in attending and thn put away some money every month to pay for it. If it’s not this year, fine, save for next years conference. JUST DO IT! You won’t regret it!!
Oh, one more thing. Do you want to know how some people know what is coming out ahead of time and they are prepared to take advantage of it… by networking. I now know of at least 3 products that will be coming out in the next month or so. ![]()
